Janay Jackson was sleeping peacefully in her bed in Englewood, FL when an unmarked van ran into the side of her house– directly into her bedroom and killed her. Janay was a senior in Samuel W. Wolfson High School. She was taken to Shands Jacksonville Hospital where she later died, while the driver suffered minimal injuries.
Investigators do believe that alcohol was a big factor in the high speed of the vehicle that slammed into the side of the house, killing the 17yr old girl.

According to dailymail,
Miss Jackson’s father, Gerald Jackson told the local news station that the house had been a target for wayward vehicles in the past and as such he had built a barrier in front of his daughter’s bedroom. Sadly, though, the cinder block reinforcement was rendered useless on Tuesday when the sound of shattering glass ringing through the house alerted Mr Jackson and his wife to the horrific accident.

Miss Jackson told First Coast News that he had always tried to protect his daughter from what he called a ‘violent society’ but losing her this way was ‘unthinkable’.

Janay was finishing up her last year of High School, with plans of attending college. Such a sad tragedy…my heart and prayers goes out to the family…
