Gabby Douglas was smiling from ear to ear as she exited JFK Airport to prepare for an appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and to her surprise the First Lady Michelle Obama was there to join her!!
Jay Leno asked Gabby if she planned to participate in the summer Olympics next year, and with out hesitation she replied: “Oh definitely” giving confirmation that she would be! Just like the Gold Medal that she now possess, she looked like a winner in a gold metallic skirt with a fitted black leather jacket and her oh-so famous ponytail..!! && while we’re on the subject of her ponytail..check out this very inspirational poem written and rehearsed by a fan, along with interview and pics of Gabby and the First Lady after the jump…
When asked if the dream of winning the “Gold” matched the reality, Gabby replied..
“I think it’s very different, and when I mean ‘different,’ it’s in a better way,” Douglas replied. “I mean, I never thought I would be doing the show with the first lady, or even you, Jay.”
Gabby and First Lady Michelle Obama joked about healthy eating habits when Gabby admitted to indulging in post-Olympics fast food from McDonalds to celebrate her victories!! && being the health advocate that Mrs. Obama is she jokingly replied “You’re setting me back, Gabby!”
