Ok,.. so for those that missed out on the action of Rihanna and Teyana Taylor going at it on twitter a few days ago, I’m gonna have to give ya a quick recap–because it’s far from over and matter-of-fact it just got real REAL…
Last week, Rihanna posted a video on instagram of her male stylist mocking Teyana by wearing a curly wig and a snapback– performing a parody of Teyana’s instavid she previously posted of herself singing Anita Baker’s “Caught up in the Rapture”…
Well, Teyana caught wind of the subliminal video from Rihanna’s team and went OFF on twitter!!
She continued, “i sing caught in the rapture on IG then she posts her boy singing the
same song, the same part, with curly hair and a snap back??? #PETTY. …
petty is petty and shade is shade, b*tch knew what the f*ck she was doing.”
Well Rihanna thought Teyana’s gangsta tweets were pretty amusing so she simply replied to the G.O.O.D member by taking shots at her networth, stating ….
Well Teyana didn’t take that too lightly, in fact she hit her with…
Yesssss!!! They it took it that far…but the REAL BANGER came when Teyana Taylor changed her profile pic to a picture of her and Rihanna in the boxing with a picture of RiRi’s beaten face from her 2009 domestic violence incident as a Twitter background picture.
And let’s just say that shot wasn’t taken to lightly by many. Immediately after, domestic abuse became an issue and anyone who was once a victim was beginning to voice their opinions. Placing petitions in heavy rotation to have Teyana Taylor’s endorsement with Adidas dropped!!
But that didn’t mean Rihanna was in the clear, because a petition to have her Mac Cosmetics deal axed began to rotate as well, claiming the pop star to be a bully!!
The petition on Teyana says that the Harlem singer was mocking domestic abuse victims and was sending abusive tweets to Rihanna.
The petition reads:
Miss Taylor first (before the image above) started sending abusive and offensive tweets/retweets to Rihanna for over a period of 8 hours. This is not about RIHANNA, this is about all the ABUSED WOMEN of the world being MOCKED! IT IS A SHAME that ADIDAS seems to be endorsing @TEYANATAYLOR!
We demand that you do the right thing and terminate her contract and send a strong message to your consumers! Letting one of your sponsors mock a domestic violence victim discourages your female customers from speaking out against their abusers!!!
Rihanna has many young fans that look up to her and bullying is a HUGE problem that we are facing with the youth today. She is known for constantly bullying and picking fights with people over the internet and this is a problem that has been going on for a while now. By consistently attacking people online about their looks and reminding them how they are beneath her, she is using her platform in a very negative light and does not provide a positive image for MAC cosmetics or any of the other companies that she endorses. She is a poor role model and promotes habitual drug use. Rihanna openly smokes marijuana and no doubt has encouraged her fans to do so as well. Due to the behavior that Rihanna is exhibiting, her fans and followers have made death threats and are also exhibiting bullying behavior. This is important b/c Rihanna continues to lead the young women of America down a dark path. She continues to demonstrate destructive behavior to the young girls of this great United States of America by using her huge platform for negativity as opposed to promoting female empowerment and uplifting our young ladies. Because she has such a huge influence over so many, as a result of her bullying and verbal abuse it has encouraged her followers to do so as well. There have been many death threats from people that are a part of her social media gang that she refers to as “The Rihanna Navy”. At a simple request from her, they will pounce on anyone that Rihanna wants to bring her wrath down upon.
She is definitely a cyber-bully as evidenced by her Twitter attacks on Ciara, Karruche Tran and Teyana Taylor, just to name a few. These attacks can do harm to a person’s self-esteem and can lead to things such as depression and suicide which happens to be an ongoing epidemic in our country amongst teenagers, especially young girls. As someone who knows a person who took their life due to bullying, this not only destroys the life of the person who killed themself, it also changes the lives of the family of the person doing the bullying. Continuously creating a negative cycle that will repeat itself. The effects of cyber-bullying will stunt the growth of our beautiful nation by weakening the psyche of the women of tomorrow who will lead us into the next century. Is this someone who you want representing your brand? It’s time that Rihanna learns that bullying is UNACCEPTABLE and will not be tolerated!
Here are some more of the remarks left by its signers aiming to have Teyana’s deal snatched from her:
Judy Harvey, BRAMPTON, CANADA:
No one should make fun of someone else’s pain especially domestic violence…just plain wrong..what miss Teyana Taylor did was beyond despicable…she put Rihanna’s face in a boxing ring as a punching bag…can’t go on with the rest of the details….it was so sickening and horrible to see…Miss Taylor is not the right image to represent your company as it reflects back heavily on you as a whole. My blood runs cold just thinking about the picture she posted as her avi on her twitter page.
Fieona Dixon, BIRMINGHAM, UNITED KINGDOM:
I was physically abuse as a child and I do not think its is funny. Tayanna Taylor mocked domestic violence openly on twitter and I feel strongly upset .. I will not be supporting this brand anymore ..
Victoria Kurtz, MOSCOW, RUSSIAN FEDERATION:
I love your products, even can’t imagine my life without them. But the face of the company can’t be a person who behave in a such immorality way. No violence!!! why should we honour person who proclaim violence????
Maria Briseno, LAREDO, TX:
As a victim of domestic violence myself I was outraged by Teyana Taylor’s behavior. This issue is not funny and should not be taking lightly. I have always loved Rebook and their products, recently introducing my young daughter to them as well. However, I will need to reconsider my choices being that Rebook supports behavior of such poor taste.
Jacinta Onus, AUSTRALIA:
Domestic Violence is not acceptable & for her to make fun of it is disgusting. She definately doesn’t deserve it!!! TAKE TEYANA OFF
WOW!!! That’s crazy….what do you think about the petitions? Is it really necessary? Post your comments below…
